Flat Fee, High-Quality Focus
CTX Corporate One replaces CTX’s standard percentage-based membership charges and annual account fee with a simpler pricing structure.
Under standard CTX membership, the exchange charges:
- 2% of trade value to the buyer
- 5% of trade value to the seller
- An annual account fee
Corporate One instead provides:
- No account-opening fee
- No minimum balance
- US$0.10 per credit, per side
- The same flat fee regardless of the credit price
CTX stated that Corporate One is priced for institutional-scale trading in high-quality credits, typically at US$10 or more per tonne, rather than high-frequency, small-ticket transactions. The company said the flat structure gives both sides of a trade a predictable cost regardless of price movement.
The Voluntary Carbon Market is forecast to reach USD 45.18 billion by 2034, according to the source cited in the announcement.
Built for Scale
Corporate One is designed around the workflows of institutional traders, rather than SME or retail buyers and sellers.
Key trading and settlement features include:
- T+0 settlement
- 24/7/365 trading
- Electronic clearing under CTX’s Continuous Trading Contract
- No paperwork for clearing
- Ability to buy-to-transfer or buy-to-retire without maintaining individual registry accounts
- Simplified transfer and retirement charges for applicable credits
- Live FX rates streamed via Westpac Bank at execution
- Instant invoice and statement
- Full co-benefit symbols included with each trade
For Verra VCS credits, transfer and retirement are subject to a single one-time charge. CTX stated that there is no transfer or retirement fee for Gold Standard, Global Carbon Registry, BioCarbon Standard, UCR and UNFCCC CDM credits. Current registry and transfer fees continue to apply.
Corporate One members also retain access to millions of credits listed on CTX, spanning different project types, vintages and price points. CTX stated that the continually changing inventory allows portfolios to be built with depth and balance.
For new large-scale listings in Q4, CTX has also waived delisting fees until Q2 2027, while VCS fees still apply.
Invitation Only
CTX Corporate One is available by invitation rather than self-service registration.
CTX stated that it is extending invitations directly to organizations that fit the Corporate One account profile.
Invitees who accept until October 31, 2026 can also nominate:
- Up to three major buyers or suppliers per quarter
- Up to 12 strategic counterparties per year
- Each nominated counterparty can receive its own free Corporate One account
- Nominated accounts receive the same terms
The invitation structure is intended for organizations participating in institutional-scale carbon credit trading.
Wayne Sharpe on Corporate One
Wayne Sharpe, CEO and Founder of Carbon Trade eXchange, described the change in CTX’s account and commission structure:
“We’ve never gone to zero on our account fee, and we’ve never dropped a percentage commission for our biggest members, until now,”
Sharpe continued:
“Corporate One is built for real institutional volume in high-quality credits, priced the way a market this size should be priced: flat fees, no upfront cost and simple, and it puts more of the money from every trade back in the hands of the project developers actually doing the work. Our in-house trading desk also supports members in sourcing and building portfolios of high-quality credits.”
A Track Record Spanning 18 Years
CTX Corporate One launches on Carbon Trade eXchange’s existing trading platform, rather than as a newly established exchange.
According to CTX:
- The exchange has operated continuously for more than 18 years
- It has recorded zero trade defaults
- It has cleared more than 1 billion tonnes of CO2e offsets
- It currently showcases more than 320 project listings
- Those projects span more than 40 countries
- Listed standards include Verra VCS & Plastics Recycling, Gold Standard, Global Carbon Registry, BioCarbon Standard and Universal Carbon Registry
- The marketplace also includes CDM CERs
CTX stated that it is the only exchange publicly named as a trading partner on unfccc.int for UNFCCC CDM CERs, with that relationship in place since 2017.
The exchange was named “Global Leading Fintech Corporation” at the 2025 ASEAN Banking & Finance Summit. Wayne Sharpe was named “Innovator of the Year” at the 2023 EU FinTech Awards, where CTX also received the Diversity & Inclusion Award. Jennifer Shung, Head of Trade, received Rising Star 2023.
