Adyen Approved as Global Payment Partner for Guidewire

Adyen stated that it has been approved as a Global Payment Partner for Guidewire, with the integration to be made available through the Guidewire Marketplace.

The integration is designed specifically to connect Adyen’s payment capabilities with Guidewire core systems, providing property and casualty insurers with a standardized way to manage payment activity.

The launch also builds on the company’s existing commercial activity within the insurance vertical. According to the announcement, insurers using the integration can replace fragmented regional payment arrangements with a single global platform covering the flow of funds throughout the policy lifecycle.

Enhancing the Insurer and Policyholder Experience

The Adyen integration will operate as a vetted choice within the Guidewire Marketplace, enabling insurers to manage both payment acceptance and financial routing through the connection.

Key payment capabilities include:

  • Premium collections: Automated collections through cards, ACH and local payment methods
  • Recurring billing: Support for recurring billing retries
  • Claims payouts: Efficient payouts using bank transfers and virtual cards
  • Payment channels: Front-end payment optimization
  • Financial routing: Back-end routing across the payment lifecycle

The integration is intended to give insurance leaders a single connection for managing these payment processes through their Guidewire environment.

Differentiating with Intelligent Money Movement and Existing Market Traction

Adyen stated that its infrastructure differs from traditional payment processors and software-only layers that depend on third-party banks and fragmented regional networks.

The company operates as a single platform with its own banking licenses, enabling the integration to cover the transaction lifecycle from front-end payment acceptance through back-end clearing and settlement.

According to the announcement, this architecture is designed to support:

  • Higher payout speeds
  • Reduced transaction failure
  • Institutional-grade resilience
  • End-to-end money movement

Adrian Davis, Managing Director Financial Services & Insurance at Adyen, said:

“By launching our exciting integration on the Guidewire Marketplace, we are building upon the strong market leadership in the Insurance market that we’ve scaled in recent years,”

Davis added:

“What differentiates Adyen is that we aren’t just a software connection; we own the underlying financial infrastructure. As a global platform with our own banking licenses, we manage the full money movement stack end-to-end which ensures Guidewire’s customers easily offer whatever payment method their policyholders prefer, effectively turning payments from a legacy hurdle into a strategic advantage for growth.”

Advanced Security and Operational Efficiency

The marketplace integration will allow insurers to use Adyen’s full money movement stack across Guidewire’s customer base of more than 570 insurers in 43 countries.

The integrated solution includes:

  • True End-to-End Processing: Eliminates third-party banking intermediaries, supporting faster financial routing and reduced operational costs.
  • Unified Reporting: Provides centralized transaction data and automated reconciliation to support back-office operations.
  • Built-in Fraud Protection: Uses Adyen’s machine learning risk engine to identify and mitigate fraudulent insurance activity.
  • Data Security: Uses advanced tokenization capabilities to keep card-on-file data continuously secure and compliant.

Global Availability and Deployment

The integration will be available globally following its launch in 2027, allowing insurers across:

  • North America
  • Europe
  • LATAM
  • APAC

to leverage the solution.

Because the integration is standardized for the Guidewire Marketplace, deployment can be handled by any Global Systems Integrator (GSI) or by an insurer’s internal IT team.

Adyen stated that this deployment model provides insurers with flexibility in implementation while connecting their Guidewire environments to the payment infrastructure.
